Introducing

the founder

Meet Gaëlle Beech, who has a deep passion for textiles, cultural empowerment and the founder of The ANJELMS Project.

Her journey in design began at 16, when she chose not to pursue traditional paths like business or fashion, but instead aspired to be a vet or anthropologist. Her love for textiles was sparked by a summer job at Hermès, where she developed an appreciation for craftsmanship and storytelling in design.

Gaëlle's career progressed from Hermès in Cologne to various fashion roles in Australia, including positions at Ralph Lauren and other brands. Through these experiences, she recognized the negative impacts of consumerism on society and the environment, prompting her to focus on sustainable fashion.

She aims to use clothing as a means for social change and cultural preservation, facilitating connections among artisans, emerging creatives, and those with untapped potential through The ANJELMS Project. Her design philosophy emphasizes empowerment and heritage, with a commitment to creating timeless, ethically made pieces that tell a story.

Gaëlle advocates for thoughtful purchasing, caring for possessions, and promoting recycling, reusing, and repairing as key aspects of sustainability.
