Quality Material – Kandu Cotton and Kala Cotton are two types of eco-friendly, rain-fed cotton that are organic, pest-resistant, and require minimal investment. Their natural properties, combined with an eco-friendly production process, result in a lightweight fabric that provides warmth during winter and breathability in summer, making it an ideal choice for everyday use.
Kandu Cotton is 100% naturally brown cotton cultivated in the region of Karnataka.
Kala Cotton is 100% naturally grown cotton native to the region of Kachchh.
Eco-conscious dyes – We enhance Kandu’s beauty and combine Kala's richness with natural dyes—indigo, pomegranate peel, iron rust, and more—all sustainably sourced.
Water-Efficient Production – Unlike conventional cotton, both Kala and Kandu require minimal water, making it an environmentally friendly choice.

To ensure that your beautiful piece looking fresh and vibrant for many seasons to come we recommend following these simple care instructions:
Gentle Cold Wash - immerse your Anjelms piece in cold water and gently hand wash it. If a washing machine is used, wash with similar colours and cold gentle cycle are recommended. A slight shrinkage (2.5% - 3.5%) and a soft, supple fabric after a few washes are to be expected.
Air Dry in the Shade - after washing, avoid wringing it out to preserve the fabric quality and lay flat or hang it to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight.
Avoid Harsh Detergents - to preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics. Avoid bleach and ironing on a low setting only if necessary.

Naturally grown Organic Cotton – The emphasis on rain-fed, pest- and drought-resistant varieties of cotton highlights a profound commitment to ecological sustainability and the revival of traditional farming practices that honor the land and its resources. By prioritizing empathetic production processes, both Kala and Kandu not only showcases innovative agricultural practices but also represents a movement dedicated to fostering resilient rural livelihoods. This approach enhances the sustainability of cotton farming while simultaneously strengthening the resilience of farming communities in the face of climate change.
Artisan Empowerment through traditional skills – Both the Kala Cotton and Kandu Cotton initiatives share a commitment to building a sustainable and equitable future for rural farmers and artisans. They achieve this by collaborating closely with local communities and establishing integrated supply chains that connect farmers, ginners, spinners, and weavers. Both initiatives adopt a comprehensive approach centered on sustainable agriculture, social equity, and economic empowerment. These efforts help preserve traditional crafts, sustain livelihoods, and strengthen the local value chain.
