Simple, versatile, and consciously made—our Naturally Dyed Plain Metrage Fabric is sold by the metre and designed for everyday sewing and creative projects.

Dyed using natural dye methods, these plain fabrics offer rich, earthy tones with a softness and depth that synthetic dyes can’t replicate. Each colour is achieved through traditional dyeing processes, resulting in subtle tonal variations that reflect the beauty of handcrafted textiles.

Perfect for dressmaking, quilting, craft projects, linings, and homeware, this is a timeless base fabric for makers who value both quality and sustainability.

Price is per metre – fabric width is 110cm, available in 1m or 3m panel.

Crafted from 100% handspun and handwoven cotton and printed using GOTS-certified inks.

These textiles are sustainably processed and ethically crafted by The Stitching Project in Pushkar, India.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Immerse in cold water and gently hand wash it. If a washing machine is used, cold gentle cycle is recommended.

Please note that hot machine cycles will shrink this fabric.

After washing, avoid wringing it out to preserve the delicate textile quality and lay it flat or hang to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight. Only iron on low heat.

To preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics.
