Medium Plantdyed Khadi

$30.00
PrintIron Black/Myrobolan - Flower Buds
DESCRIPTION

This textile first came unbleached and has undergone a few washing processes by both the weavers as well as our partner, The Stitching Project, before blockprinting technique is applied by hand.

110cm in width – price is per metre.

Handmade cloth is unique in small ways with subtle texture and an even finish. Little irregularities are part of its charm and not a fault.

This 100% handspun and handwoven unbleached cotton has undergone at least one of these processes:

  • handdyed using natural dyes derived from plants
  • blockprinted using GOTS-Certified inks.

Artisan Craftmanship

These textiles are sustainably designed in Fremantle, Western Australia and ethically made by The Stitching Project in Pushkar, India.

Artisan Empowerment through traditional skills

The Stitching Project is a solar-powered social enterprise started by Australian textile artist Fiona Wright and her husband Praveen.

They provide fair work conditions, vocational training and a living wage to remote artisans who produce high-quality work, changing their lives – and those of their families – in the process.

Our process starts with designs being hand carved onto wooden blocks. Then Pawan, our block printer at The Stitching Project places each block onto the ink board. This process is repeated a hundred times over with amazing precision and experience to create the perfect patterns.

Each of our Garments is proudly signed by every craftsperson who has had a hand in making it.

Care Instructions

gentle cold wash

Immerse your Anjelms piece in cold water and gently hand wash it. If a washing machine is used, cold gentle cycle is recommended. Iron on low heat.

Air Dry in Shade

After washing, avoid wringing it out to preserve the delicate textile quality and lay it flat or hang to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight. Only iron on low heat.

Avoid harsh detergents

To preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics.
