Introducing our exquisite Modal Silk Kimono, expertly crafted in blockprinted Ajrakh silk modal at the renowned workshop of master printer Suffiyan Khatri. Featuring traditional geometric patterns and vibrant colors that are a testament to centuries-old craftsmanship, this kimono is designed with practicality in mind, boasting functional pockets for added convenience. 

Our models range from AU size 6-10 and both wear a size S/M — designed with a comfortable yet tailored silhouette, this piece fits true to size and flatters a range of body types.

Crafted from 100% soft modal-silk blend featuring natural plant-based pigments and traditional Ajrakh block printing by Suffiyan Khatri.

Silk modal is a more sustainable alternative to traditional silk, made using modal fibre derived from sustainably harvested beech trees—a naturally renewable resource. Produced through a closed-loop process that recycles up to 95% of water and solvents, it significantly reduces environmental impact while maintaining durability, breathability, and long-lasting colour.

Cultural Significance

Ajrakh is a 4,500-year-old textile art, known for its intricate double-sided hand block printing and resist dyeing techniques. Using natural plant-based dyes like indigo and madder, each piece is created through a careful multi-step process, with layers of color added day by day using custom hand blocks to produce detailed, one-of-a-kind patterns.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

gentle cold wash

Immerse your Anjelms piece in cold water and gently hand wash it. If a washing machine is used, cold gentle cycle is recommended.

Air Dry in Shade

After washing, avoid wringing it out to preserve the delicate textile quality and lay it flat or hang to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight. Only iron on low heat.

Avoid harsh detergents

To preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics.
