Quilt #51 - stitched by Sunder Mam

$495.00
Artisan Craftmanship

This is a collaboration work between the ANJELMS Project and the Stitching Project.

Created to support our post-production upcycling initiative, each quilt is made using repurposed textiles, thoughtfully hand-stitched to give new life to existing materials.

No two quilts are ever the same — the rhythmic, imperfect beauty of hand stitching gives each piece its own identity and soul. Treat yours with care, as you would a work of art — because that’s exactly what it is.

Artisan Empowerment through traditional skills

The Stitching Project is a solar-powered social enterprise started by Australian textile artist Fiona Wright and her husband Praveen.

They provide fair work conditions, vocational training and a living wage to remote artisans who produce high-quality work, changing their lives – and those of their families – in the process.

Our process starts with designs being hand carved onto wooden blocks. Then Pawan, our block printer at The Stitching Project places each block onto the ink board. This process is repeated a hundred times over with amazing precision and experience to create the perfect patterns.

Each of our Garments is proudly signed by every craftsperson who has had a hand in making it.

Care Instructions

gentle cold wash

Cold gentle cycle is recommended if a washing machine is used. Iron on low heat.

Air Dry in Shade

After washing, avoid wringing it out to preserve the delicate textile quality and lay it flat or hang to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight. Only iron on low heat.

Avoid harsh detergents

To preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics.
