Dhurrie Shrug
A truly unique piece in this collection, our reversible Shrug is the ultimate outerwear! Made using an upcycled Dhurrie, which is a lightweight traditional floor rug that is loomed in India. We were privileged to be a part of the decision-making in production for this piece, as we discovered the Dhurries while visiting the weavers that make our Khadi for all our other garments while in Pushkar at The Stitching Project. We fell in love with these incredible pieces, made using recycled sari silk, and decided to turn them into winter shrugs, perfect for those brisk mornings or evening events when you just need one more statement layer in your outfit.
The reversible shrug is fully lined with our heavyweight natural Khadi on the reverse side, so you can wear it two ways, being an incredible modular garment in your sustainable wardrobe.
The shrug comes in four colour options – Plain Yellow with natural Khadi reverse, Plain Orange with Natural Khadi reverse, Multicoloured Orange with natural Khadi reverse, and Multicoloured Teal with Natural Khadi reverse. Be sure to select the colour that you would like before checkout. There is only one of these made in each colour, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!
As always, our garments are designed in Fremantle, Western Australia. Made ethically from 100% hand-loomed Khadi Cotton in Pushkar, India by The Stitching Project. Designs are hand carved onto wooden blocks. Then Pawan, our block printer at The Stitching Project places each block onto the ink board. This process is repeated a hundred times over with amazing precision and experience to create the perfect patterns. All our dyes are Global Organic Textile Standards (G.O.T.S) Certified, and our fabric and processes are Craftmark Certified. Each of our Garments are proudly signed by every craftsperson who has had a hand in making it.
