This hands-on workshop offers a rare introduction to one of India's oldest textile traditions, combining the stories, philosophy and techniques that have been passed down through generations of Khatri artisans.

Whether you're completely new to block printing or looking to deepen your appreciation for traditional textile crafts, this workshop offers an inspiring and memorable introduction to the world of Ajrakh.

Under Sufiyan's guidance, you'll learn about the history of Ajrakh, explore the traditional printing process and create your own hand block printed bandana scarf using authentic hand-carved wooden blocks.

Location

This workshop will be held at The Anjelms Project Studio, Fibonacci Centre – Main Space, 19 Blinco Street, Fremantle WA 6160.

Parking is available on-site and around the centre.

What to bring

Please wear clothing suitable for working with natural dyes. An old T-shirt or apron is recommended, as some of the natural pigments may permanently stain fabric.
