This collection is a collaboration between The ANJELMS Project, Kalyani Pasad, and Gitaben Bravesh Rabari, a talented artisan from the Rabari community.
Drawing inspiration from the timeless traditions of the Rabari community, we hope to honour the beauty of their craftsmanship and the stories woven into every stitch through this collection.
Cultural Significance
Each piece in this collection carries the distinct texture and natural character of Kala Cotton, a handwoven fibre native to the region of Kachchh. Its organic hue and tactile surface reduce the need for chemical processing, allowing the fabric’s raw integrity to shine through.
Rooted in tradition yet refined for contemporary wear, Kala Cotton embodies both sustainability and heritage — a material that connects responsible craftsmanship with enduring design.
Artisan Empowerment through traditional skills
The Rabari community, an integral part of Gujarat’s rich cultural heritage, is a semi-nomadic tribe renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship in embroidery and textile art. Deeply rooted in tradition and guided by a strong sense of community, the Rabari people have preserved their cultural identity through intricate stitch work, vibrant colours, and storytellinag motifs.
Each piece of Rabari embroidery is a testament to their skill, patience, and artistry, featuring detailed patterns and symbolic designs that reflect their connection to nature, mythology, and everyday life.
Care Instructions
gentle cold wash
Immerse your Anjelms piece in cold water and gently hand wash it. If a washing machine is used, wash with similar colours and cold gentle cycle are recommended. A slight shrinkage (2.5% - 3.5%) and a soft, supple fabric after a few washes are to be expected.
Air Dry in Shade
After washing, avoid wringing it out to preserve the delicate textile quality and lay it flat or hang to air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading and protect the fabric from the harsh effects of direct sunlight. Only iron on low heat.
Avoid harsh detergents
To preserve the integrity of the colors and material, opt for mild, gentle pH-neutral detergents that are suitable for delicate fabrics.
